What happened to the last 6 months?

Dear Hayden,
I can't believe you are almost 3 years old! You love being a big brother and you take good care of your little sister. Sometimes you get a little rough with her and she cries but she is pretty tough.

So much has happened in your life since I wrote last. Just one week after your sister was born, your Grandpa Haller left us to be with God. You didn't really understand what was going on with all of the visitation and funeral but you were a trooper meeting all those people. We didn't really say much to you about Grandpa being gone until you started asking. You were confused at first why we would go to Grandpa's house and he wasn't there. Now you like to get balloons at buffalo wild wings and send them up to God and Grandpa. It makes mommy and daddy miss Grandpa but we know it makes Grandpa and God smile when you do it. You are such a loving boy! Your Grandpa loved you and your sister a lot. We are glad you got to spend 2 and a half years getting to know him. We know he would have loved to spend many more years with you but he fought a hard battle with brain cancer. It was all he could do to live to meet your sister. Now he is watching over you and your sister.

Shortly after Grandpa Haller passed away you started playing with your "imaginary" friends. David (a boy) and Peepee (a girl). You have had your ups and downs with them but overall mommy has enjoyed watching you play with them. For a while you told me David was throwing rocks at you. Mommy got very frustrated because I couldn't help you make him stop. He seems to have calmed down and you seem to be playing nicely again.

You are just finishing up potty training and boy were you a stinker. You know what you needed to do you just didn't want to take the time to do it...Mommy finally gave you and you have come around since I stopped pushing. We are still working on getting the poop in the potty but overall we are done.

You go to school every day from 8 to 12:30. You are in Miss Sarah's class and most of the time seem to enjoy yourself there. One of your friends has recently moved to another class so you have been a little hesitant about going to school but two friends from you class last year have move to your class again so I am hoping you settle in again soon. For now we drop your sister off in the morning then you come to my classroom for  while to calm down. When you are ready you head to your room to play with your friends.

I hope I haven't missed too much from our last year I am going to try to be better about writing to you but I never know how that will go. Your daddy and I love you so much! Watching you grow thus far has been fun. I can't wait for the many years to come!

Love
Mommy
